Mark Kennedy is a Big, Fat WANKER

I am watching Meet the Press on CNBC Europe. Tim Russert is doing his public debate forum for key races for Senate around the country, and this week it's Minnesota's turn. Congressman Mark Kennedy and Hennepin County Attorney Amy Klobuchar are debating.

Mark Kennedy is such an oily bastard. He answers every question by saying something vague that can't really be considered an answer for the question, and then immediately tries to taint AK by portraying her as a waffler who's running away from her positions. Asked directly about running away from HIS positions (he's a 92% Bush supporter who's claiming to be bi-partisan and free-thinking), he says, "Let's talk about Amy Klobuchar's inconsistencies" No, Mark. We're talking about you right now, you smearing, lying bastard. And he is the king of inflammatory buzzwords. I wish there was a way for the TV to go into demonic echo mode when people issue phrases like, "social security payments for illegal immigrants" or "threat to the sanctity marriage".

I hope you lose big, Mark Kennedy, you colossal moron.

I can't watch stuff like that without a drink, and even then I tend to end up screaming about the politician's relationship with his mother. You are a braver woman than I.

I read that in the Strib online, and was happy to see it. I hope it's a 30 point lead by the time the election happens. He is UGLY AND STUPID AND BAD BAD BAD.

Oh my, no. He's just some curly haired nimrod Republican with a permasmirk. In Farenheit 911 Michael Moore asks him if he'd send his own kid into battle and he evades the question. Because questions are only okay if you can use them to smear a liberal.

Empathize this

I've got two things on my mind today. First off, I really like Sonja Sotomayor. And I especially like that when discussing his selection criteria for Justice Souter's replacement, President Obama brought up empathy. Empathy is not the same thing as sympathy, compassion or emotion. Empathy is perspective. The idea that our laws have strict, specific definitions that should be considered without perspective is ridiculous. Laws mean something, but they must also be considered in context. That isn't to say they should be applied arbitrarily, or to advocate making exceptions left and right to suit a judge's whim...suggesting laws should be considered in context simply means that the courts must consider how our laws should be interpreted, and how they can make our society a better, more habitable, more functional one. How they can help Americans live their lives without impediment to their personal liberties. Empathy provides the perspective necessary to do this. Judge So
